I had my 5wt Fly Rod ready to go tonight and wouldnt you know it, every thing changed..... For the past 6 nights I've watched hundreds of juvenile Striped Bass and a mix of White Bass and Hybrid Bass as well...... Catching them on fly (or anything else) would be as simple as "hitting the water". Well tonight, all that changed thanks to about 2 dozen jumbo Jumping Mullets that decided to spend 6 freaking hours daisy chaining right under the lights where the Bass Frenzys had been taking place. I suppose in the eyes of 8" to 12" Striped Bass, a bunch of 20" Mullets churning in a tight circle was an intimidating sight..... Anyway, the feeding frenzy that happened the past 6 nights never materialized.... But, patience and outside the box thinking paid off eventually when I finally landed a hard fighting 12" Striped Bass on a shrimp initation. Man...... that was fun. Total Catch for the Night: 1 Striped Bass
On the Fly, yeah baby! Hey, its been a Horrible 2016
That little Bass made me happy
