Ferry Dock Fishing

So far, I've seen 1 Sheepshead in the 6-7lb range that I didn't catch... I caught a 2lb Tautog that ate a fat red Sea Urchin... The Sea Urchins have exploded in Hatteras so hopefully there will be a Sheepshead explosion soon to follow! Time will tell.. Hatteras is also having a population explosion, as tourist season hits its stride.... All those bikinis, are definitely a distraction when trying to catch the "speedy nibblers"  like Sheepsheads and Tautogs....... While playing with other baits like conch and hermit crabs, I have also managed to catch a few Black Sea Bass.... Total Catch for the Week: 1 Tautog and 8 Black Sea Bass

I doubt it. What the comment implied was, the weather is great, the Ferry's are busy, and it looks like a great start to the 2012 tourist season. As far as me catching bikini girl..... She is looking great. She & I are great friends now and hopefully she'll pop up on this report soon holding a big Mahi

Seems like TWC has developed a South Carolina cheering section. Hope I don't let them girls down... My slogan is "Big Fish on Light Tackle". Here lately, it seems like it could've "Capt Marty: Consistently Losing Girlfriends since 1992"....

Some by design, of course. Others left me in shambles. None of them hurt as bad as that 18lb+ Bluefish a few weeks back! That was worse than when LOML#1 Jennifer tossed that 2 Kt Diamond out the window when we were driving 70mph down Highway 401 in Raleigh back in 1997. Ouch. Damn I miss that girl!

Sleep sure is hard to come by these days! Pretty soon I will hear the dull roar of marine diesels as they carry the Big Rock fleet offshore in quest of a Giant Marlin, oops, that was wrong..... As they carry the rich and famous offshore to match wits in pursuit of their share of the 1.2 million in prize money... Hell, even Joey Bell has joined the party... I bet he tossed 10 grand in the POT but he wants me to take him out in my Boat and pay gas plus $100... If he even shows up (Ha Ha, or if I wake up, you got me there Joseph). Can't wait to hear how it turns out for ya, Buck. Poor guy, he's been up next since August 21, 1993! Probably win the damn Tournament... If he does, I'll surely require a deposit next year when he blocks out an entire week of Cobia season and decides not to show...

Oh well, offshore fishing was never my game. Too much team work. I perferred the individual nature of inshore/nearshore "rod in hand" fishing.... Running 40 miles offshore and riding around casting to Tuna, Dolphin, and Billfish is great fun but it isn't "cost effective" In the case of Atlantic Billfish, it isn't "effective effective" anyway... Ha Ha, I'm obviously sleep deprived at this point! Anyway, if anyone is cruising the comments section of my Blog... I am open on Wed June 13, Sun June 17 and Mon June 18.... Unless the So Carolina Girls want to go fishing... Or sight seeing or experience things on the Ocean they may have never experienced before....wink wink (hope my momma aint looking)
