Sept 8 More Great Casting Action and a Citation Spanish Mackerel

Today we found the Greatest School of Bluefish that I have ever encountered... Acres and acres of Bluefish. Completely covering the surface of the water... Busting bait... Nice Bluefish, the majority were 2-3 pounders... It was every cast. As soon as your lure hit the water there would be a fish on it....  Unfortunately, we already had a cooler full of them, but we couldn't help ourselves.... Big Sharks were cutting through the Bluefish and added excitement when they appeared near the boat. We tossed a half of a Bluefish out there on a wire rig and we had a pick-up, but we missed it....  After bailing a 100 Bluefish and a few Spanish Mackerel mixed in, we ran offshore searching for something else..... We found huge schools of Albacore crashing baits in 60 ft of water.... But, once again, they were the most annoying fish ever... One school produced a tripleheader. We only released one though... Didn't seem like a big deal, but we never, ever hooked another one. That sucked and we wasted an hour slinging metal to "un-hookable" fish... That ruined a prefectly great day. Everything was difficult from that point on.... Much later, we live bait fished in Beaufort Inlet and had only one strike.... That sucked... Cody did catch a 6 lb Spanish Mackerel but that was it..... Total Catch for the Day: 100 Bluefish up to 3 lbs, 5 Spanish Mackerel up to 6 lbs, and 1 Albacore at 5 lbs
